Services

Press releases, researched, written, sent and checked

A press release service is the work of turning a piece of news into a release a journalist would want to receive, and sending it where news is read. This studio runs the four stages end to end: the research that finds the angle; the copy, written to newswire standard under a drawn header; the distribution chosen for the story; and every placement checked afterwards. One release is USD 500; a launch with journalist pitches, USD 950.

What it is

A press release is a short news story written by the organisation it is about, sent to the places that carry news so that journalists, search engines and AI assistants can find it. It works when it is genuinely news, told the way an editor would want to receive it.

This studio runs the whole of it, so none of it lands on your desk. The research finds the angle and the people who cover it. The copy is written and edited to newswire standard, under an original header illustration drawn for the release. The distribution is chosen for the story. And afterwards every placement is checked, and the report says what ran, where, and what did not.

Your part is to tell the news once, on a thirty-minute call, and to approve the text before it goes. Everything between those two moments is the studio's job. To start, write the news in a sentence on the brief card and pick the Press & news chip; the reply comes in writing, usually inside a day, with the rung that fits.

The research

Every release starts with the question an editor asks first: why is this news, and why now. On the call the studio takes the facts, the numbers and where they come from, and the quote, then finds the angle that turns them into a story rather than an announcement: the hook in the timing, the figure a reader will remember, the local or industry reason it matters.

The same research names who covers the subject: the countries and industry feeds the release belongs in and, for a Launch release, the journalists who have written about it in the past year. An article a journalist chooses to write counts for far more with AI assistants than a paid placement: in Muck Rack's May 2026 study of more than 25 million links cited by ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, journalism alone made up 27 percent of the sources, and paid or advertorial content 0.3 percent. The research is also where the news is screened. Supplements, weight loss, gambling, payday lending, forex, crypto, multi-level marketing and reputation repair are declined here, before any money moves, and so is an advert dressed as news.

The copy

A press release writing service is judged by what a news desk does with the text, so the release is written the way a desk wants it: the news in the first sentence, the facts a reporter needs in the next three, a quote from a person rather than a department, and nothing an editor would have to cut. The headline and the summary are written for two readers, the person scanning a feed and the search and answer engines that index it, so the facts can be lifted whole.

Each release opens with an original header illustration drawn here, at the size the newswire shows, in place of a stock photograph. It goes out with the release, on the newswire's page and wherever a copy carries pictures, and it is yours to use anywhere once the invoice is paid. The draft comes inside three working days of the call, with two rounds of changes, and nothing is sent until you have approved the final text and the date.

The distribution

A press release distribution service decides where the news is read, so here that is chosen for the story rather than left to a default: the countries it matters in, up to five industry feeds, and the day and hour it goes out, fixed in advance for news under embargo. It is distributed through an established international newswire to news sites, local TV and radio station sites, Google News and industry publications, on the date you approve. On a Launch release the pitches go out the same morning.

The copies on partner sites carry the newswire's own dateline and notice, marking them as a distributed release, with your company named as the source. Every link in them is marked nofollow by the newswire's own rule, which is what Google's spam policies ask of links in paid distribution, and the anchors are your name or your address, never a keyword. That keeps the release clean for your domain, and it is why no release here is sold as link building.

The check afterwards

Within three working days of distribution you get the placement report, in the studio's own format: every placement the newswire records, checked and linked, grouped by kind (news sites, TV and radio station sites, industry publications, news aggregators), with a plain line on anything that did not run where it was aimed. The desks the release was emailed to are listed separately and labelled as desks, because a desk that received it is not a story that ran.

A Launch release gets a second report at thirty days: the replies from the journalists who were pitched, the articles written, and the mentions found. The monthly programmes add a report each quarter, which sets the next three months of the calendar.

What it costs

Four rungs: a single release, a launch, and two monthly programmes that run a release a month. Each includes all four stages, from the research to the checked report, so nothing is added to the invoice later and there is no per-word fee.

Press releases. Dirham rate as of 5 September 2026.
RungPriceWhat it includes
One release USD 500 (about AED 1,800) The angle and the news hook found on one call; up to 800 words written and edited to newswire standard, the headline and summary shaped for search and the answer engines; one drawn header; one country and up to five industries chosen for the story; sent on your date; every placement checked and reported within three working days.
Launch release USD 950 (about AED 3,500) Everything in one release, plus: the journalists who covered the subject in the past year found and up to twenty-five pitched one by one, a follow-up to those who did not reply, up to 1,000 words, two countries, the drawing with two of your own photographs or simple graphics, your video embedded, and a second report at thirty days of what was carried and what was written.
A release a month, six months USD 3,000 for six (about AED 11,000) A release a month for six months from an editorial calendar agreed at the start, each one researched, written, drawn, sent and checked as a single release is; a newsroom page built on your own site; and a report each quarter.
A release a month, twelve months USD 5,400 for twelve (about AED 19,800) Twelve releases across the year from one calendar, the same four stages every month, the newsroom page built and kept up to date, and a report each quarter, at a lower price per release than the six.

Single releases are paid half on booking and half when you approve the final text; the six-month programme in halves and the twelve-month in quarters, in advance. USD anchors every price; the dirham figure is at the pegged rate of 3.6725, rounded to the nearest hundred, as of 5 September 2026, and excludes any VAT, sales tax or withholding your own country applies to imported services.

The newsroom on your own site

A release on a newswire lives on other people's pages, under their rules. So both programmes also build a newsroom page on your own site, where every release lives in full, with its date, its drawing, a media contact and the logo files and photographs a journalist asks for. The copies on the wire link back to it, and it is the version that is yours to keep.

It is built in whatever your site already runs on, marked up as news for the search engines, and linked from the rest of your site, so whatever the news earns in search is earned by your own domain. It is built to be the page a reporter finds when they search your name with the word news.

Who it is for

Companies with something that is actually news: a product launch, an opening, a new location, a senior hire, a funding round, a partnership, a result with a number in it, an award judged by someone else. Nonprofits and foundations with a report or a campaign. Firms entering a new market, for whom a release in that country's industry feed is a first public footprint.

The monthly programmes suit a business with news every month or two that would rather have one studio hold the calendar, the voice and the archive than brief a new writer for each release.

What it rests on

Press releases are a new line for this studio in September 2026. What they rest on is the writing and the drawing already on this site, and one client programme that carried releases.

  • The writing. The journal on this site is written to the rules a release keeps: the point first, plain sentences, every number sourced.
  • The drawing. The worlds on this site were drawn here, and the header on each release is drawn the same way, for that release.
  • The client work. Releases were part of the Orlux Rides programme. That is the studio's account of one engagement, not a measured result.

There are no testimonials on this site and no strip of outlet logos, because a paid placement is not an endorsement.

Questions people ask before they write

What is included in the price?

All four stages: the call and the research, the writing with two rounds of changes, the drawn header, the choice of countries and industries, the distribution, and the checked report. There is no per-word fee and nothing added to the invoice later. A long research release, a second language, a rush date or extra countries are quoted before you book, never after. In the programmes a release costs USD 500 over six months and 450 over twelve, with the calendar, the newsroom page and the reports included.

Whose newswire is it?

Not the studio's. It is an established international newswire with its own editorial review, chosen for its reach into news sites, station sites, Google News and industry publications. You are told which one before you book, the copies it syndicates carry its label with your company as the source, and the report names it. The fee here is for everything around the send: the angle, the writing, the drawing, the targeting, the pitches on a launch, and the check.

How quickly can it go out?

A draft inside three working days of the call, and distribution on the date you approve, usually within a week of the brief. A company's first release can take a day or two longer, because the newswire may confirm that the person sending it can speak for the business. News under embargo is scheduled for a set date and hour.

What will a press release not do?

It will not guarantee an article, pass ranking credit through its links, or move a ranking on its own. The placements are press-release pages, carried as a paid service; an article happens when a journalist decides the news matters to their readers, which is why the Launch release asks the right ones, one at a time. What a release does is put a dated, findable record of your news where desks, search engines and AI assistants read.

What do I need to provide?

The facts and any numbers, with where they come from; a quote from a named person, and that person's approval; a media contact the release will print; your logo and any photographs; and the authority to announce. Approval within two working days keeps the date. For legal, financial, stock or merger news the newswire asks for documents, and the studio tells you which at the brief.

What if the news is refused?

It is screened at the brief, before any money moves, so a refusal should be rare. If the newswire still refuses a written release and a rewrite cannot meet its reason, half the fee comes back and the text and the drawing are yours to use. A release cancelled before writing starts is refunded in full. In a programme, a refused month is replaced by another release or refunded in proportion.

● Before you write

Asked and answered.

What does ShepherdUX actually do?

Design, build and growth, the whole stack: brand identity, interfaces, full websites and apps, editorial blogs, full-stack SEO (also sold as a three-month package at one fixed fee), press releases, Google and Meta ads, and custom CRMs with whatever integrations the work needs. You can hire one layer on its own. The studio exists because the layers work better when the same room holds all of them.

Does the SEO cover AI search as well as Google?

Yes, and it has for a while. Everything is written answer-first, with entities spelled out and facts a machine can lift whole, so it ranks in Google and gets quoted by AI assistants. On one client, AI assistants now deliver roughly one booking in twelve.

What does a project cost?

It depends on what the work is, which is why the brief above asks for a budget instead of quoting one blind. Small fixed pieces exist, and so do monthly programmes. Either way you get a written plan with a price on it before anyone commits to anything.

Can you take over a site somebody else built?

Yes - it is one of the most common ways in. The first step is an audit rather than a rebuild: on one recent client, the audit found Google had never crawled twenty-five of the site’s most important pages. What happens next follows from what the audit finds, rather than from a plan decided before anyone looked.

Where is the studio based?

The work is remote and always has been. Current and recent clients run from Orlando and Tampa Bay to Karachi, and every one of them is measured the same way, in their own Google Search Console. Distance has never once been the problem.

How will I know the work is working?

You watch it move in numbers you own: Google Search Console, your analytics, your inbox. The portfolio on this site draws its graphs from clients’ real Search Console exports - that is the standard of evidence the work is held to, here and everywhere.

Or write to pen@shepherdux.com, or send a message on WhatsApp. A person reads these, and answers most of them the same day.
